Grant: design and form

Grant starts from generous flowing curves to create a modular sofa. Semi-circular elements, chaise longues, peninsulas and poufs allow different compositions.

The recessed metal sled base lightens the upholstered volume visually. Supplied views show a long curved group and its shape from above. A freestanding position makes the back and curves especially visible.

Reading the image series

Grant appears in broad pale upholstered volumes. Examine the whole seating arrangement and its individual transitions. Compare open ends, backs and nearby low tables. A pale sofa affects the room’s overall colour balance; review its covering alongside floors, walls and existing textiles.

Grant’s curve shapes the entire seating landscape rather than just a back detail. Examine the complete composition before the close-ups. A curved group can create a centre around which different viewing directions develop, but it also requires clear space beyond its outline. A floor plan showing doors and routes explains that need better than the width of one module.

The recessed support visually separates the upholstery from the floor. This effect varies with viewpoint and light beneath the sofa. A dark floor may soften the separation, while a pale one makes it clearer. Visual lightness does not establish weight or ease of moving an arrangement. It is initially a design effect conveyed by the photograph.

Peninsulas, chaiselongues and poufs can support different ways of spending time. Consider where you intend to sit, recline or welcome guests. A large open end is not automatically the right answer for every use. Tables and lighting should remain reachable from the intended places, and a central table group should leave understandable routes between seats.

The back matters when Grant stands freely. It may be more visible from a dining area or entrance than the seat itself. Do not coordinate the arrangement only around a screen directly opposite. The series compares overall form, sides and details. Describe the intended layout and choose the relevant image for an enquiry, then check module dimensions, coverings and the proposed assembly against current documents. A photographed composition is a starting point for that discussion, not a confirmed configuration for your room.

What to compare in the images

Long pale sofa with flowing curves and recessed supports. The complete view explains proportions and spatial effect. Further perspectives reveal how sides, backs or surfaces contribute to the design. Consider which view would frequently be visible in your own space. Another colour or detail remains part of the same product; the gallery brings these views together.

A question for your space

Can the curved group stand freely in the room? Compare the space behind the modules as well as overall length.

Adapt the selection to everyday life

Seating works best when form fits everyday life. A sofa for extended relaxation needs a different arrangement from upright dining seating. Measure circulation to doors and free space in front of the seats as well as the footprint. For modular sofas, a simple sketch of straight and curved elements is more useful than an isolated overall measurement. Check whether people can face one another and how windows or a screen affect orientation. An armchair can create a reading zone, but also needs light and a reachable surface. Fabric and leather colours change with daylight; a physical sample helps coordinate floor and wall finishes. Photographs explain form and arrangement but do not replace sitting in the furniture. Seat height, depth, back angle and armrests should suit the people using it. Check care, removable covers and specific versions against current manufacturer documents.
