MILOS by VONDOM: a Mediterranean lounge with organic shapes

Softly shaped sofas, timber chairs, low tables and generous resting places accompany stone, planting and water. Explore the many sides of MILOS.

From coastal landscape to furniture shape

MILOS is a collection designed by Jean-Marie Massaud for VONDOM. The supplied document describes a Mediterranean inspiration: shapes recalling stones formed by wind and water are translated into outdoor furniture. The images express these ideas through rounded sofa bodies, soft upholstery and organically shaped table surfaces. The collection includes different pieces and complementary objects. Material selection should therefore be checked for each product; a timber armchair has a different construction from an upholstered sofa element or a planter. The series places this variety in a connected architectural setting. Warm stone walls, pergolas and planting provide a calm background. The resulting Mediterranean concept can also feel appealing on a thoughtfully planned terrace without a sea view.

An open lounge beneath the pergola

Beneath the pergola, the seating groups look generous yet easy to read. Low furniture accompanies the broad opening towards the landscape. This suggests an important principle for your terrace: attractive views should not disappear behind a high backrest by accident. Position sofas and chairs so conversation and the view work together. Both pale and darker upholstery appear in the images. Shade, stone colour and the timber roof structure change the impression of each finish. Examine your location at different times before choosing colours. A pergola is part of the outdoor architecture; its structure, shading and weather conditions need planning independently of the furniture. The seating requires a level, suitable area with accessible circulation routes.

Combine timber chairs and sofas thoughtfully

The individual timber chairs establish a different rhythm from the broad sofa bodies. Their open arms and visible frames allow the background to remain in view. The brown upholstered chair close-up shows how wood and textile surfaces work together. When selecting a combination, compare more than colour. Seat height, preferred posture and the reach to the table also matter. A slightly turned chair can open a conversation group; two parallel chairs may read as a separate resting area. Draw the complete footprint, including armrests. Beside a compact container home, a clear furniture group can make the outdoor space inviting while preserving the entrance and the route into the garden.

Loungers and daybeds beside water

The pool views show several ways to recline: individual loungers, small surfaces and daybeds with rounded canopies. The overhead view reveals how strongly the resting areas shape the floor plan. An appealing retreat therefore needs more than a suitable furniture width. Consider access, the sun's daily movement and appropriate clearance from the pool edge or steps. A daybed can form its own garden zone but also needs vertical space. Confirm the exact canopy or shading equipment and its use with the manufacturer. The images do not establish particular protection ratings. For a smaller terrace, one carefully positioned resting place may make more sense than a long row of loungers. An accessible surface makes it more useful in daily life.

Tables and planting complete the group

Round and elongated tables repeat the organic outlines of the furniture. Small plants appear on them without filling the surfaces. Consider whether one central table or several smaller tables will suit your seats better. Planters provide another connection with the landscape. Different heights can accompany an entrance or organise a terrace. Assess vessel size, drainage, suitable plants and the supporting surface's load capacity together. Keep views and walking routes open. Include the mature height of the planting when composing the group. A small green accent may occupy considerably more space later and should not be placed directly in a necessary passage.

Record your MILOS selection

Save the views of your favourite sofas, chairs and resting places. A measured terrace sketch helps turn them into a suitable combination. Check current materials, fabrics, care and purchasing routes on the manufacturer page. Include cushion storage and seasonal use in the plan. MILOS gains its character from soft furniture alongside calm architecture. Further SkyContainer ideas provide references for façades, terraces and garden transitions, helping your selection fit the home as a whole.
