Tiny house, container home, modular home: differences
Three terms, many possible specifications. What matters is how a building is constructed and how you intend to use it.
Start with the intended use
A small home, a guest room and a workspace have different requirements. Describe everyday use first: how many people will use the space, for how long and during which seasons? These answers shape useful questions about the model.
Tiny house: a name does not explain construction
A model name alone does not establish dimensions or construction. Ask about external dimensions, usable area, wall build-up and intended use. A small building is not necessarily mobile; an image of wheels cannot replace mobility documentation.
Container home: examine the construction
Ask whether the specification uses an existing container or purpose-built frame modules. The exterior shape alone is not reliable evidence. This matters when assessing claims about materials, reuse or conversion.
Modular home: ask about the specific system
Clarify which components are delivered and what work takes place on site. Ask about connections, placement and utilities for your project. The word modular does not establish an installation time or fixed total price.
Compare areas clearly
Ask for a clear distinction between external dimensions and usable area. Check the floor plan against your furniture, circulation and storage needs. An attractive image can make a room look spacious; planning requires dimensioned documents.
From a living idea to a model enquiry
The existing SkyContainer website names Mini Basic, Midi and Maxi. Use those names as a starting point and enquire about the current specification. Availability, delivery area, technical details and price must be confirmed. Inspiration remains separate from a binding offer.
